FAQ

Weddings

How many photos will I receive?

This varies based on a number of factors (wedding duration, schedule, etc.), but I generally deliver 400 to 600 photos.

Are the photos edited?

Yes, all the photos I deliver are professionally edited. The wedding day is just the beginning of my work; most of the work happens in the editing room.

How will I receive my photos?

You will receive your photos by digital download, as well as on a USB key delivered by the mail.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. I generally require a 25% deposit to secure your wedding date. This may vary depending on other package add-ons (like an engagement session, album, etc.).

Can we get a second photographer?

I generally prefer to work with an assistant instead of a second photographer. I like to photograph everything myself to maintain consistent style and quality. My assistant carries my extra equipment and off-camera lighting. He also keeps an eye out for flyaway hairs and phones showing through pant pockets.

Do you travel? Are there travel costs?

Yes, I’m happy travel almost anywhere (including abroad). There are no travel costs within the GTA. Outside the GTA, I charge for actual travel costs (and overnight accommodations, if required).

Can I share my photos on Facebook?

Yes. As outlined in your contract, you can your photos for personal (non-commercial) purposes. Share away on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat!

Destination Weddings

Do you do destination weddings?

Absolutely! Instead of charging a fee, I generally offer my services in exchange for a 1-week all-inclusive paid trip. Contact me to discuss the details.

Equipment

What camera do you use?

My primary camera is a Canon 5D Mark III professional, full-frame DSLR camera.

What lenses do you use?

I exclusively use Canon professional “L-series” lenses with f/2.8 (or faster) maximum aperture. My primary lens is the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II lens. I also use the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens to photograph accessories, and for some formal portraits.

What happens if your camera breaks?

For all weddings and events, I carry a back-up/secondary camera that I can use if anything happens to my primary camera. However, I have never had any issues with my primary camera (knock on wood).

Do you use a flash?

I (almost) always use a flash indoors, since this produces the best colours and the sharpest photos. I usually bounce the flash off a ceiling for soft, flattering lighting that doesn’t look like a flash was used.

I’ll sometimes use a flash outside in bright sunlight to fill shadows.

What do you use to edit photos?

I use Adobe Lightroom for the majority of my editing. For some more detailed editing, I’ll also use Adobe Photoshop.

Prints & Albums

Can I print my photos?

Yes, of course (for personal use).

Do you offer prints or albums?

I offer this as an add-on service. Alternatively, many couples now choose to print their own photos and albums since this has become more readily available.
